A legacy looking to the future

The Pecchio's school carries the name and soul of its founder, Carolina Pecchio. Her mission, which has guided our actions for over a century, is dedicated to safeguarding the dignity of the child and their right to grow in an environment of unconditional love. We firmly believe that only through the education of the heart can children gain self-respect and respect for others.

Today, our school stands as an educational community that virtuously unites tradition and innovation. Our focus on the circularity of relationships is the essential condition for every positive educational outcome and for the holistic growth of our little ones.

Our history

  • 1904: established by the Pecchio family

  • 1935: recognized as a moral entity

  • 1995: dede-classified from a public body to a private law legal entity with non-profits status

  • 2001: recognized as en equated school (M.D. of 27/02/2001)

Our institutional governance

The Pecchio's school is managed with utmost transparency, ensuring that every decision is made in the exclusive interest of the educational community and on a non-profit basis. The school is governed by a board of directors composed of 5 memebers:

  1. the President, who is by right the pro-tempore parish priest of the parish of San Michele in Ottobiano;
  2. two counselors appointed by the President;
  3. two counselors appointed by the municipal administration of Ottobiano.

The structure comprises the following governing bodies, which ensure consistency with the educational mission of our founder and sound administrative management:

  • The President: legally represents the asilo, presides over the meetings of the board of directors and oversees the correct execution of resolutions and the pursuit of the statutory objectives. 
  • the board of directors (BOD): is the decision-making body that defines strategic guidelines, approves the budget and guarantees the continuity of the asilo's founding values. The BOD operates on a voluntary basis, entirely in service to the community.

The presence of these bodies ensures a solid governance model exclusively focused on the well.being and educational of the child.

The historic building

Our historic building has been renovated to guarantee the highest hygienic-sanitary and safety standards, while also offering a stimulating and well-cared-for environment.

  • The Nursery (3-36 months) features a large main hall dedicated to play and activities for the youngest children. The environment is designed for their well-being, complemented by spaces dedicated to the refectory and daily rest.
  • The Preschool (3-6 years) presents specific, well-maintained, and organized environments to stimulate creativity and learning, in line with the educational needs of this age group.

Our outdoor   space

Our garden is the pulsating heart of our school: a lively, welcoming space rich in stimulation, designed to support children in their growth and daily discoveries.

Here, children can run, jump, climb, hide, observe, manipulate, and play together, developing their motor, cognitive, and relational skills. Nature becomes an invaluable teacher: falling leaves, growing grass, blossoming flowers, and moving insects provide opportunities for wonder and continuous learning.

Our garden is not just a place for recreation, but an educational space that promotes autonomy, socialization, respect for the environment, and self-discovery. Every day spent outdoors becomes an opportunity to grow happily, in harmony with others and with nature.

The value of networking

Feeling like an integral part of the social fabric, we actively network to be the true "heart of the community":

  • Parish: we participate in and propose meetings during religious holidays and adhere to solidarity initiatives.

  • City Hall: we actively collaborate through joint initiatives and in supporting daily management activities.

  • Volunteers: the invaluable contribution of our volunteers, driven by a spirit of service and dedication, is fundamental for organizing events and the daily life of the Asilo.

  • Health Protection Agency: we comply as a supervising user with all health and food regulations.

Designed to offer a concrete solution to families' scheduling needs, while simultaneously guaranteeing a serene and welcoming environment and emotional continuity for the child.

CATERING AND WELL-BEING

Our nutrition is a pillar of well-being. We guarantee a balanced and seasonal menu, developed by sector specialists in compliance with regulations, with the ability to manage special diets, allergies, and intolerances carefully.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Constant dialogue is essential. We offer regular individual meetings, opportunities for discussion with the educational staff, and organize events open to the community to celebrate children's progress and strengthen our bond. 

EXTRA ACTIVITIES

To further broaden the educational offering, we propose activities that provide children with a unique opportunity to develop new skills early, cultivate their curiosity in specific disciplines, and expand their cultural horizons, ensuring a complete and modern educational program.

SCHOOL LABS

Our workshops are structured moments aimed at consolidating and practically applying acquired skills, stimulating learning through action and play.

OUTDOOR SPACES

Our ample outdoor spaces are a true didactic laboratory. They are used daily by the Nursery and the Preschool for motor activities, sensory explorations, and outdoor education. We believe that contact with nature is fundamental for the discovery and serene growth of every child.
